How is RFID Driving Factory Automation Transformation?
With the global trend of economic development, traditional manufacturing costs are rising, processing profits are decreasing, and issues such as low accuracy in manual data collection and significant delays in manual data input have become increasingly problematic. The need for factory automation transformation is urgent, to improve overall profitability and optimize enterprise management processes.
RFID technology has a wide range of applications in the industrial sector and has become one of the foundational technologies for smart manufacturing and product lifecycle management, making production processes more automated and intelligent.
Implementation Process:
- Install RFID industrial readers at workstation nodes along the production line, and place passive RFID printable labels on production materials or material pallets. Relevant information such as product model, specifications, quantity, and responsible personnel are recorded in the tags.
- When materials or material pallets with UHF passive RFID tags pass through the nodes, the RFID industrial reader automatically captures the tag information and transmits it to the backend. Administrators can accurately track the material's location and proceed with the next production process step.

3. When the product reaches the final workstation node, the RFID industrial reader reads the product's programmable RFID stickers information and verifies whether the production process has been followed correctly. If any steps are missing, the missing process can be traced, and the product can be sent for rework. If the process is correct, production is considered complete.
4. After production is completed, the system generates a production barcode. This barcode serves as a unique identifier stored in the database, providing a basis for future product traceability. The UHF embedded RFID tag is then detached from the production material, and using the RFID reader, the tag is rewritten for reuse.
By implementing RFID technology, companies can track product inventory and production processes, reduce labor-intensive manual interventions, and increase production visibility. This improves production speed, lowers error rates, reduces labor input, and cuts production costs. The process of data collection becomes automated, with real-time recording and feedback of production line information. This enhances management efficiency, enables timely adjustments to production conditions, and ensures stable production on the product line.
