The application rate of RFID technology in air transportation continues to increase
According to the International Air Transport Association, the rate of improper baggage handling in the aviation industry has been increasing worldwide. On average, 7.6 pieces of checked baggage are lost or delayed at the destination for every 1,000 passengers, causing huge losses. In order to solve the problem, airlines have introduced RFID technology to achieve rapid identification and tracking of luggage. Currently, 85% of airlines and airports comply with the requirements of electronic baggage tags.
Compared with traditional barcodes, RFID tags have faster recognition speed and longer reading distance, and are not easily affected by label stains and wear. A large number of precautions can be printed on the surface, and they can be wrapped around luggage and are not easy to fall off. They have the advantages of efficient reading, stable identification, and rewritable information. When passengers check in, they paste RFID aviation baggage tags on each piece of luggage, and the information carried by the RFID tags will be automatically entered into the airline's baggage management system. This system can track and record the transportation status of luggage in real time, including key information such as the location of the luggage, transportation speed, and whether transfer has occurred. Airlines can monitor the luggage throughout the entire process to ensure that the luggage can be accurately delivered to the destination according to the scheduled route and time. This innovative measure not only greatly improves the efficiency and accuracy of baggage handling, but also significantly enhances the travel experience of passengers.
